Vision of Dawn is a recurring solo event where you complete daily tasks to earn Hope — an event-specific point currency — and unlock reward chests at fixed thresholds. The event runs for three days, tasks reset daily, but Hope accumulates across the full window.

The catch is straightforward: the final chest sits at 110 Hope, and the F2P ceiling is 102. That 8-point gap is the entire design tension of the event. One purchase of any size closes it. Whether that purchase is worth it depends on what's inside Chest 5 and how much you value War Chant Custom Chests — but either way, the math is the math, and understanding it before the event starts is what separates clean clearance from scrambling on day 3.

Overview

Vision of Dawn is a recurring solo event in which players complete daily tasks to earn Hope. Hope accumulates against five fixed chest thresholds; reaching each threshold unlocks the corresponding chest for manual claim. The event runs for three days per iteration and is generally observed to recur at roughly monthly intervals, though no official calendar is published.

The event has two distinct task sets that depend on state age:

Newbie State version — used by states that have not yet reached Generation 3 (approximately Day 120). Tasks focus on stamina use, resource gathering, and troop training.
Fire Crystal Age version — used by states at Generation 3 and beyond. Tasks include Advanced and Epic Recruitment alongside beast hunting, rallies, gathering, and a one-time purchase prompt.

The Fire Crystal Age version is the dominant variant in active play and is the focus of this guide. The Newbie State version is summarised in a dedicated section near the end.

Core Mechanics

Duration and Reset

The event runs for 3 days. Tasks reset daily, with reset reportedly at 00:00 UTC. Daily task progress returns to zero on reset, but cumulative Hope persists across the full 3 days.

[!IMPORTANT] Reaching a Hope threshold unlocks the corresponding chest, but chests must be claimed manually — they are not auto-collected. Crossing a threshold without tapping the chest leaves the reward sitting in the event UI. Failing to claim before event end means losing it entirely.

Hope Thresholds

Five chests unlock at fixed Hope thresholds:

The 110 Hope Ceiling

The maximum Hope obtainable from non-purchase tasks is 34 per day, or 102 across three days. Because the final chest threshold is 110 Hope, the fifth chest is mathematically unreachable without completing the "Make any purchase" task at least once, which awards 20 Hope.

A single purchase across the full event is sufficient — the task does not need to be repeated daily to unlock Chest 5. With one purchase: 102 + 20 = 122 Hope, which clears the final threshold with a 12-Hope margin.

Tasks (Fire Crystal Age)

The following tasks repeat each day. All Hope values are per completion, and task progress resets at daily reset.

Task Stacking

Tasks within the same category share progress, so completing the higher target satisfies the lower one:

Beasts — defeating 15 satisfies both the 5-beast and 15-beast tasks.
Polar Terror rallies — calling 10 satisfies both the 3-rally and 10-rally tasks.
Gathering — gathering 10M satisfies both the 3M and 10M tasks (subject to tile and march-slot availability).
Epic Recruitment — 30 daily uses satisfy both the 10-use and 30-use tasks. Combined daily Epic Hope is therefore 14 (4 + 10).

Only Advanced Recruitment has a single tier (10 uses for 2 Hope per day) and does not stack with anything.

Chest contents are consistent across iterations. Hope thresholds are cumulative across the 3-day event.

Chest Value Framing

The five chests are not equally valuable, and recognising the value gradient helps prioritise effort:

Chests 1–3 (10/30/50 Hope) — modest filler value. Trivial to reach with even partial daily clearance and not worth optimising around.
Chest 4 (80 Hope) — first significant tier. 15 Fire Crystals plus accumulated stamina makes this the de facto F2P target.

This gradient drives the central strategic question: is the gap between Chest 4 and Chest 5 worth one purchase? The answer depends on individual valuation of War Chant Custom Chest contents, but for most players the practical decision is binary — either commit to the purchase and target Chest 5, or stay strictly F2P and target Chest 4.

Hope Budget and Critical Breakpoints

The headline numbers (102 F2P / 122 with purchase) assume full daily clearance of every task. In practice, key inventory often constrains what is achievable. The Epic Recruitment task is the swing factor — every day Epic 30 is skipped costs 10 Hope from the daily ceiling.

Optimal allocation prioritises Epic 30 days over Epic 10 days. Epic 30 yields 14 Hope for 30 keys; Epic 10 yields 4 Hope for 10 keys — bulk Epic 30 days are more Hope-efficient per key spent.

The "everything maxed" target — Chest 5 with comfortable margin — is 90 Gold Keys + 30 Platinum Keys (or 15 Platinum if Hero Hall free recruitments cover the gap).

The Purchase Decision

Reaching Chest 5 requires one completion of the "Make any purchase" task at any point during the event. The smallest available pack appears to satisfy the requirement; no minimum amount is officially documented, so this should be treated as observed behaviour rather than a confirmed mechanic.

There is no Hope benefit to making more than one purchase, since Hope above 110 is unused. The per-task purchase reward is granted per daily completion though — players making purchases on multiple days gain additional War Chant Custom Chests, Fire Crystals, and Gold Keys from the task itself, even though they unlock no further chests.

For most players the cleanest decision is between the F2P and single-purchase paths. Daily-purchase paths are not Hope-efficient and are only worthwhile if the per-task rewards independently justify the spend.

Recruitment Task Logistics

Epic Recruitment is the heaviest single component of the event. Key planning before the event begins is the largest single determinant of clearance for most accounts.

Gathering capacity — 3M+ resources per day requires several march cycles. Players with low gathering capacity benefit from queueing tile assignments at reset and using shorter, higher-tier tiles where available.

Polar Terror Coordination

Polar Terror rallies are the most alliance-dependent component of the event. Three frictions are common:

Rally credit goes to the caller, not joiners. The "call rally" task progresses only on accounts that initiate the rally. Joining another player's rally typically does not credit task progress on your account. Confirm in-game wording before relying on shared rallies for credit.
Polar Terrors are spawn-limited. The map carries a finite number of Polar Terror tiles at any time, and 10 rallies per day per player implies meaningful contention if many alliance members are also clearing the event. Coordinate to avoid duplicate calls on the same target.

A practical clearance order minimises wasted action and avoids late-day shortfalls.

Open at reset — claim previous-day chest progress, queue first gathering marches, and use any free Hero Hall Advanced Recruitments while available.
Beasts and rallies early — these consume stamina and time-gated alliance resources; spread them through the day rather than batching at the end.
Recruitment in blocks — 30 Epic Recruitments in a single sitting is faster than splitting into batches. Wait until the daily Epic task is visible before burning keys, to avoid spending pre-event uses on nothing.
Resource gathering — set the highest-tier tiles available to push past 10M comfortably; queue near reset to maximise tile uptime.
Late-day check — verify Hope total before reset. If a chest target is at risk, prioritise the highest-value remaining task (typically Epic 30 at 10 Hope, then any unclaimed 4-Hope task).

Day-by-Day Pacing

The 3-day cumulative Hope structure means underperformance on one day can be partially recovered on another, within limits.

Day 1 — validation day. Aim for full clearance (or close to it). If a category falls chronically short on day 1 (not enough Polar Terrors available, for example), surface the problem early so days 2–3 can adjust.

Day 2 — steady-state. Most accounts hit their daily rhythm here. This is also the right day to commit to the purchase decision — by end of day 2, a player at ~68+ Hope is on track for Chest 5 with one purchase and should commit before day 3 risk accumulates.

Day 3 — make-up day. Calculate backwards from your target. At day 3 reset, reaching Chest 4 requires (80 − current Hope) more, and reaching Chest 5 requires (110 − current Hope) more. If the gap is unreachable in a single day's tasks (more than 34 Hope F2P, or 54 with purchase), accept the lower chest rather than wasting late-day effort.

Priority If You Cannot Clear Everything

If full daily clearance is not feasible, prioritise tasks by Hope yield per unit effort:

Highest yield, lowest effort: Make any purchase (one-time, 20 Hope) — if making the purchase decision at all.
Highest single-task yield: Epic Recruitment 30 (10 Hope per day) — the swing task for Chest 4 and Chest 5 reachability.
High yield, time-bound: the 4-Hope tasks for Beasts (15), Polar Terrors (10), and Gather (10M). Each is a hard target that requires real effort. Polar Terrors specifically require alliance availability.

Newbie State Version

States that have not reached Generation 3 (approximately Day 120) play a different task set. Recruitment tasks are absent; instead, tasks are reported to focus on stamina use, resource gathering, and troop training. Specific numerical targets and per-task Hope values are not consistently documented for this version, so the description below is structural rather than precise.

The total Hope ceiling is reported to mirror the Fire Crystal Age version (102 F2P / 110 with one purchase), and chest thresholds appear to follow the same five-chest pattern. Chest contents differ — the Newbie version is reported to award smaller Gem and Speedup quantities and does not include Fire Crystals as chest rewards, replacing them with Hero XP and lower-tier Speedups.

The strategic logic is otherwise the same: F2P players should target Chest 4, and Chest 5 requires one purchase. Pre-event preparation in the Newbie version centres on banking Chief Stamina, queueing resource gathering, and ensuring sufficient training materials to clear the troop training task — particularly speedups, since high-power training is time-gated for early states.
